EOM Garden Growing Prep:  Q&A Plus EOM Training Date 3.7.17
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.                                              Gary Player

The process to identify, allocate, set alerts and purchase our “Garden Growing” candidates may seem intimidating but after purchasing the first two to three funds, it will become second nature.                                                                  DOE

When we near the end of this series, I will offer an “in-person” seminar to further explain the procedure and answer all question. Since my EOM Members are located from Seattle to Florida, I am working to offer it online with only a few day delay.

The date for the training is Monday, March 27th from 6-8:30 PM. The location is F119 at JALC. This event is for paid EOM Members Only. You will receive a VIP Pass to attend. More to come…

Today I answer your question on the Garden growing Application series.

Q1. Received alerts yesterday that MINT crossed below and then and then above the SMA. That’s what we were waiting for right?

A. Here is the chart for MINT, trading well above the 30 SMA. The MACD Histogram just crossed under the zero reading and is now in negative territory. A full Simple Simon Buy Signal must hit before purchasing.

Q2. My Vanguard watch list doesn’t do much. I was advised to go to a different section for alerts, and while there were more options, you are unable to set for SMA, Chaikin MF or MACD. I can set alerts for price and volume types of things: I guess the one that says “crosses moving average” would cover the first thing we are looking for, but not the others.

A. Each brokerage house has different alert conditions-see Vanguard Alert options above. The more alerts you specify, the busier your email will become. After a time, they can become unmanageable. With all the conditions I name, my favorites; setting a specific price, price crosses one of the moving Averages they offer.

Per Vanguard, I would; add an exact target price to box one or two, bottom box; price crossed the 30 moving average.

The more advanced trading platforms offer a wider variety of items to choose from. Unfortunately, Stockcharts.com lets you do five per month.

No one asked, but an alert hit recently on BOND when the price dropped down through the 30 SMA, and the MACD Histogram turned negative. I highlighted the previous pullbacks.

Before purchasing, since I plan to hold for the next seven years, I would like to see the price drop at least three percent-similar to the previous November pullback. I must also have a SS Buy Signal before buying.

When my analysis is complete, I plan to compile all steps into a single PDF document, available exclusively to EOM Members.
